A new partnership in NW Calgary
We are delighted to announce that Nibras has partnered with Al-Salam Centre to power Dar Al-Arqam, its school for Qur'an and Islamic Studies.
Al-Salam Centre, in the Ranchlands community of NW Calgary, is a welcoming hub for the Muslim community. It offers daily and Friday prayers, Quran and Arabic education, a preschool, youth camps, sports and community gatherings. Dar Al-Arqam is home to its Qur'an memorization (Tahfeeth) programs: certified teachers, careful attention to Tajweed, and a focus on understanding the Qur'an's message as well as reciting it precisely.
What Nibras brings to the school
- Teachers record every class in a few taps: what each student recited, the homework for next time, and who was there.
- Parents follow their children's homework, grades and teacher notes as they happen, on the web and in the Nibras app.
- The school sees every halaqa and every student's progress in one place, from the placement test to the end of the term.
Programs
Dar Al-Arqam began on Nibras with its Summer 2026 Tahfeeth session in July. For Fall 2026 it runs three programs, each with Hifz lessons at its heart:
- Buthour (بذور, "Seeds"), for children aged 4 to 7: Fridays, 6:00–8:00 PM, covering the Arabic alphabet and first Hifz lessons. September 25, 2026 to February 5, 2027.
- Raheeq (رحيق, "Nectar"), for girls aged 7 to 15: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00–8:00 PM, covering Tajweed principles and Hifz with the Bidaya books. September 22, 2026 to February 4, 2027.
- Ghiras (غراس, "Seedlings"), for boys aged 7 to 15: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00–8:00 PM, covering Tajweed principles and Hifz with the Bidaya books. September 22, 2026 to February 4, 2027.
