A new partnership in Southwest Calgary
We are delighted to announce that Nibras has partnered with the Calgary Islamic Centre Southwest (CICSW) to run its Qur'an & Islamic Studies School on the Nibras platform.
CICSW serves the Muslim community of southwest Calgary with daily prayers, Islamic education, family services, community outreach and interfaith work. Its Qur'an school gives students a structured, semester-based foundation in the Qur'an and Islamic knowledge, in a community-centred environment.
What Nibras brings to the school
- Teachers record every class in a few taps: what each student recited, the homework for next time, and who was there.
- Parents follow their children's homework, grades and teacher notes as they happen, on the web and in the Nibras app.
- The school sees every halaqa and every student's progress in one place, from the placement test to the end of the term.
About the program
The school covers six areas of Islamic education:
- Arabic: a strong foundation in the language
- Guided Mushaf reading: correct and confident recitation
- Qur'an Tajweed with application: learning the rules of recitation and applying them
- Islamic Studies: the fundamentals of faith and practice
- Stories of the Prophets (AS): lessons and inspiration from the prophetic narratives
- Islamic manners and character: noble character in everyday life
Classes meet on Mondays and Thursdays in two evening sessions, 5:30–7:00 PM and 7:15–8:45 PM, at CICSW, 5615 14 Ave SW, Calgary.
Semesters on Nibras
- Spring 2026, April 2 to June 29, 2026: the school's first semester on Nibras.
- Fall 2026, July 20, 2026 to January 28, 2027: running now. See the program and register.
